You missed the most obvious prime number. The number 1 itself.

Ahah, but you are wrong. In order to be a prime number it must be greater than one and has no divisors other than 1 and itself.
So another words it can't be divided 3 times or just once. In the case of 1 it could only be divided once, by itself as one is only equal to one. In order to be a prime number it to be able to be divided twice. So you can divide 2 twice. 2/2 and 2/1. So taking this into account you can find out why 4 is not a prime number as it can be divided 3 times. 4/2, 4/4, and 4/1.
Sorry 1 is not a prime number.

Sorry it's just how it is. Since one can only be divided by itself and by no other number they don't consider it to be prime. All prime number can be divided twice where one can't.

1 is not classified as a prime number by mathematicians because a prime number is itself and 1. However, these two numbers must be distinct. 1 does not have two distinct factors, it just has 1. It has a different name special for 1 or something. Fun fact, right?
